Student room booking guidance

As a student, you're able to book various rooms and spaces for study purposes or to accommodate a club or society. Before a booking can be authorised, the student policy for campus space bookings must be read and accepted.

Accessing central teaching room availability and booking central teaching rooms can be done online via Resource Booker. Resource Booker allows users to:

  • View up-to-the-minute Pathfoot and Cottrell room availability
  • Select rooms appropriate to their needs
  • Book central Pathfoot and Cottrell teaching rooms online
  • Receive booking confirmations immediately
  • Make amendments to bookings made via Resource Booker
  • Cancel bookings made via Resource Booker

Clubs and societies

The Presidents and Secretaries of each club or society can make a booking on behalf of Students' Union affiliated clubs and societies.

Club and society representatives can book lecture theatres, classrooms, or centrally controlled Exhibition Space for club or society-related events/meetings which they wish to hold on the main Stirling Campus.

Classrooms or lecture theatres (via Resource Booker)

Use the Clubs and Society tile in Resource Booker.

You will have access to booking rooms in Cottrell Building for the following times:

  • Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri: 6pm- 11pm
  • Wed: 1pm-11pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9am-5pm

Your booking must be made at least 3 days in advance.

For bookings at short notice or during teaching hours (outside the times listed above), email theunion@stir.ac.uk to make your request.

Exhibition Space, Atrium Stall or Campus Central Spaces

To book Atrium Stall, email your union coordinator/SABB with a completed risk assessment and they will pass the booking request and risk assessment to Stirling Venues who will look to accommodate the booking request. If the request cannot be accommodated, Stirling Venues will contact the club or society to discuss alternative options (using contact details provided on the risk assessment).

Sports facilities

Sports Union Club can request this via Murray or attend the weekly Fixtures/Bookings Meeting, held at 11am every Thursday during semester time.

Clubs or societies can make a booking request by emailing the coordinator/sabbatical office who will forward the booking request to sport.bookings@stir.ac.uk.

Study session and presentation practice

Students can book classrooms for study sessions or presentation practice using the Book a Room for Study Space (Students) tile in Resource Booker

You can book a teaching room up to 14 days in advance for a maximum of 2 hours per day. Only 1 booking is permitted per day for each student. Should you have a specific need to book a teaching room outside this policy, please email ask@stir.ac.uk with details of your request.

Library study spaces 

The library has bookable spaces allowing students to book rooms, spaces, or desks suitable for individual or group study. Book a space in the library.
