Annual Centre for Environment, Heritage and Policy Lecture 2022

13 Oct 2022, 6.30PM–8.00PM
Campus Central - Room C3.04
Professor Andrea Schapper
Annual Centre for Environment, Heritage and Policy Lecture 2022

This lecture will discuss how the Right to a Healthy Environment (R2HE) Coalition acted as a non-governmental “super-network” that persuaded and pressured state governments to recognize a new human right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment at the United Nations.

Speaker

Andrea Schapper is a Professor in International Politics at the University of Stirling. She currently works on an RSE-funded personal research fellowship project called “SuperSustainable” that examines how new forms of networked non-governmental actors, so-called “super-networks”, bring human rights and justice concerns into international negotiations to make environmental policies more sustainable.
