Throughout the history of the Centre members of staff have been at the forefront of research and many are in receipt of Council Grant funding for projects relating to different aspects of Global Environmental History. Perhaps naturally, our focus has been on the northern hemisphere, particularly in Scotland, Iceland, and Greenland, but our members also undertake research much more widely in a global context. These projects are all leaders in their research fields and their findings feed directly back into our research-led teaching so students are always aware of the latest developments and controversies.
