Dr David Mitchell - Hon. Professor

I am Director of Conservation at Historic Environment Scotland, the lead public body for the historic environment in Scotland where I am responsible for the conservation of over 300 iconic heritage sites and collections, and for technical and scientific research, climate change and the Engine Shed in Stirling, Scotland’s building conservation centre which opened in 2017. I have degrees from the University of Stirling, University of Strathclyde and the University of Edinburgh. My particular areas of interest relate to technical conservation, industrial heritage and history and the application of digital technologies in the heritage sector.
