Student placements and projects

Our undergraduate students from Sport Development and Coaching, Sport Business Management and Psychology of Sport degree programmes are seeking work-based learning opportunities throughout the year.

By hosting a University of Stirling student, you will gain access to talented and motivated individuals who can support projects and programmes, bring fresh perspectives, and help address organisational needs.

At the same time, you will be contributing to the development of the next generation of sport professionals and industry leaders.

Commonwealth Games 2026

Students had a unique opportunity to gain experience through work placements at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

When do students go on placement?

Students complete their placements between January and March as part of the final year of their undergraduate programme, undertaking a 30-hour volunteering placement.

Placement hours can be arranged flexibly to suit the needs of the organisation, the student, and the nature of the role or project.

To allow sufficient time for promotion and student applications during the Autumn semester, placement scopes should ideally be submitted by early September.
