The McGlashan Trust are offering bursaries of £1500 to three students undertaking taught postgraduate study at the University of Stirling for the 2026/27 academic year.

The McGlashan Trust actively prioritises supporting students from care experienced backgrounds.

Eligibility and availability

There are three scholarships of £1500 available for 2026/27.

  • Be born in Scotland OR be born elsewhere and planning to study in Scotland.
  • Be applying for postgraduate study only.
  • Be able to demonstrate current financial challenge with little or no access to family support; we prioritise supporting students facing socioeconomic challenge.
  • Be care experienced - a student with care experience is any person who has been looked after by a Local Authority in the UK. Types of care experience are:
    • Kinship Care – living with a relative who is not your mum or dad
    • Looked After At Home – living at home, with the help of social work
    • Residential Care – living in a residential unit or school
    • Foster Care – living with foster carers
    • Secure Care – living in a secure unit
