The McGlashan Trust are offering bursaries of £1500 to three students undertaking taught postgraduate study at the University of Stirling for the 2026/27 academic year.
The McGlashan Trust actively prioritises supporting students from care experienced backgrounds.
Eligibility and availability
There are three scholarships of £1500 available for 2026/27.
- Be born in Scotland OR be born elsewhere and planning to study in Scotland.
- Be applying for postgraduate study only.
- Be able to demonstrate current financial challenge with little or no access to family support; we prioritise supporting students facing socioeconomic challenge.
- Be care experienced - a student with care experience is any person who has been looked after by a Local Authority in the UK. Types of care experience are:
- Kinship Care – living with a relative who is not your mum or dad
- Looked After At Home – living at home, with the help of social work
- Residential Care – living in a residential unit or school
- Foster Care – living with foster carers
- Secure Care – living in a secure unit
