The Dorothy Asiedu Scholarship provides financial support for undergraduate and postgraduate students living in the UK, who self-identify as having Black or Afro-Caribbean heritage.

This scholarship recognises students who demonstrate leadership, integrity and compassion, and who are committed to making a positive difference in their communities. It provides £2,000 per year towards living costs, helping recipients participate fully in university life and achieve their potential.
As part of the application, you will be asked to provide examples from your experiences that demonstrate your skills, values and achievements.
There is one scholarship available, worth £2,000 per year. The intention is for the successful student to be supported for each remaining year of their course at the University of Stirling (up to four years), subject to meeting the relevant eligibility and progression requirements.
Eligibility and availability
There is one scholarship of £2,000 available for 2026/27.
You can apply for the Dorothy Asiedu Scholarship if you:
- are a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student at the University of Stirling.
- qualify for ‘Scotland’ or ‘England, Wales, NI, Republic of Ireland’ fee status.
- self-identify as having Black or Afro-Caribbean heritage.
How to apply
Please complete the application form by midday Wednesday 23 September 2026. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by Friday 2 October 2026.
