Professor Trevor Telfer has over 30 years experience in marine environmental resource development. After working in the oil industry and on marine conservation, he completed a PhD in marine ecotoxicology at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He joined the Institute of Aquaculture in 1995 and has spent the last 26 years developing and managing academic and commercial research. He lectures on undergraduate and postgraduate courses in aquaculture and marine biology. He has been principal supervisor to 17 PhD researchers.
