Volunteers coaching as part of Volunteer Zambia

Volunteer Zambia 2022

Make the most of your summer 2022 by getting involved in our Volunteer Zambia Project.

We're giving five students a unique opportunity to volunteer in Lusaka, Zambia for six weeks during the summer.

The selected students will work alongside our charity partners to deliver several sports for development projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a unique international sports development project, spending six weeks of your summer 2022 in Lusaka, Zambia within a Sports Development Officer role.

We are one of the eight top UK Sports’ Universities, known collectively as the Wallace Group which send students out to Zambia throughout the summer. The project, now in its 15th year, aims to empower communities and enrich the lives of young Zambians through the power of sport, leadership and education.

Throughout the summer, you will work closely with our charity partners, staff and fellow students in one of the following, pre-agreed roles, depending on your skill set:

  • Netball Development Officer
  • Basketball Development Officer
  • Women’s Football Development Officer
  • Media, Marketing and Communications Development Officer

Volunteer Zambia is an excellent opportunity to add value to your University education, improving skills such as global awareness, leadership, teamwork, teaching, coaching and officiating.
