Make the most of your summer by getting involved in our Volunteer Zambia Project.

We're giving five students a unique opportunity to volunteer in Lusaka, Zambia for eight weeks during the summer.

The selected students will work alongside our in-country partners, Sport in Action and National Sport Federations, in Zambia to establish and support the sustainable development of sport, focusing on women’s football, netball, and basketball.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a unique international sports development project, spending eight weeks of your summer in Lusaka, Zambia in a Sports Development Officer or a Media, Marketing and Communications role.

What is Volunteer Zambia?

Volunteer Zambia is an international volunteering programme which sends students to Zambia through the summer. We are one of the seven top UK Sports Universities, known collectively as the Wallace Group which takes part in the programme. The project, now in its 18th year, aims to empower communities and enrich the lives of young Zambians through the power of sport, leadership, and education, with a particular focus on women and girls.

Throughout the summer, you will work closely with our in-country partners, Zambian colleagues, staff, and fellow students in one of the following, pre-agreed roles, depending on your skill set:

  • Netball Development Officer
  • Basketball Development Officer
  • Women’s Football Development Officer
  • Media, Marketing and Communications Development Officer
