Entry and English language requirements

See the international qualifications we accept for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Please also check the specific grades and essential subjects required for your chosen course by checking our individual course pages.

If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of your English language skills. For a complete list of the English language qualifications we accept, including where we are able to waive an English condition based on certain local qualifications, please see our English Language requirements.

Undergraduate

Direct entry to Year 1

  • 3-year Chinese Senior Secondary (Senior High) School Graduation Certificate with 70% overall.
  • 2-year Chinese Huikao exam result 75% overall (Provinces without Huikao exams, students can apply with 75% overall from 6 modules).

Chinese Gaokao with a score of:

  • 420 of 750 Majority of China
  • 370 of 660 Shanghai
  • 504 of 900 Hainan

Other qualifications:

Foundation qualification from pathway providers or universities will be considered for Year 1 entry.

Direct entry to Year 2

Chinese Gaokao with a score of:

  • 495 of 750 Majority of China
  • 435 of 660 Shanghai
  • 594 of 900 Hainan

Foundation qualification from pathway providers or universities will be considered for Year 2 entry.

Postgraduate

  • Graduating with a minimum of 65% in a four year Bachelor’s degree from a 211 or 985 university.
  • Graduating with a minimum of 70% in a four year Bachelor’s degree from other universities.

Applicants who hold China diploma with relevant work experience, or China adult/self-taught undergraduate qualification will be also considered for direct entry.

Pre-sessional English language courses

Need help improving your English? If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements, our Pre-sessional English courses can help you progress onto your degree. Delivered on campus by INTO University of Stirling, you’ll be able to access expert training and language support.

International Society

The International Society gives students from all around the world a chance to meet each other and arrange fun events, trips and socials on campus, in Stirling or in different cities across Scotland to provide a real Scottish experience.
