Entry and English language requirements

Bahrain

Undergraduate

The University of Stirling normally requires school leavers from Bahrain to complete a Foundation Year for entry to the University. For further information regarding the University of Stirling's Foundation programmes, please visit here.

Additionally, the University will welcome applications from students who have completed one year of relevant university study.

The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum GPA of 2.8/4 in a Bachelor's degree from Bahrain.

Egypt

Undergraduate

The University of Stirling normally requires school leavers from Egypt to complete a Foundation Year for entry to the University. For further information regarding the University of Stirling's Foundation programmes, please visit here.

Additionally, the University will welcome applications from students who have completed one year of relevant university study.

Postgraduate

The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum GPA of 3.0/4 or 70% in a Bachelor degree.

Iran

Undergraduate

The University welcomes applications from students who have completed the Pre-University Certificate with minimum score of 17/20.

Postgraduate

The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum of 14/20 in a Bachelor's degree or Professional Doctorate.

Iraq

Undergraduate

The University of Stirling normally requires school leavers from Iraq to complete a Foundation Year for entry to the University. For further information regarding the University of Stirling's Foundation programmes, please visit here.

Kuwait

Undergraduate

Direct Entry to 1st Year:

We require school leavers to complete a Foundation Year for entry to the University. Find out more about our Foundation and pathway options

Students with IB, A-Levels or the American High School Diploma can be considered for direct entry. Please see individual course pages for requirements.

We also welcome applications from students who have completed one year of university study in Kuwait.

Postgraduate

We welcome applications from students holding Bachelor’s degrees with a minimum of 75% or CPGA of 2.8/4.0 from a recognised university in Kuwait.

English language requirements

Submission of IELTS and other recognised English language tests may be waived on a case by case basis, if the medium of instruction at previous study was in English and within the last five years. We require an official letter from your university or college. Please note that this waiver does not apply for courses that require higher than an IELTS 6.0.

Lebanon

Undergraduate

Successful completion of Baccalaureate General with minimum grade of 15/20.

Students with IB, A-Levels or the American High School Diploma can also be considered for direct entry. Please see individual course pages for requirements.

Postgraduate

The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum Bachelor/Licence/Maitrise: 80% or Grade B.

Libya

Undergraduate

Direct Entry to 1st Year:

We require school leavers to complete a Foundation Year for entry to the University. Find out more about our Foundation and pathway options.

We also welcome applications from students who have completed one year of university study in Libya.

Postgraduate

We welcome applications from students holding Bachelor's degrees with a minimum of 75% or CGPA of 2.5/4.0 from a recognised university in Libya.

English language requirements

Submission of IELTS and other recognised English language tests may be waived on a case by case basis, if the medium of instruction at previous study was in English and within the last five years. We require an official letter from your university or college. Please note that this waiver does not apply for courses that require higher than an IELTS 6.0.

English language requirements

Syria

Successful completion of Al Shahada Al Thanawiya with grade average of 85%

Postgraduate

Minimum of 70% in bachelor's degree

United Arab Emirates

Undergraduate

High School leavers with the Tawjihiyya are not eligible for direct entry and require a Foundation Year. Find out more about our Foundation and Pathway options.

Postgraduate

The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum GPA of 2.67/4 in a Bachelor's degree.
