Personal Tutoring

As a personal tutor you will help students to feel part of the University community. You are a specific and consistent source of guidance, information and support for students throughout their studies.

As a tutor, you should be the student’s first formal point of contact for general academic guidance and pastoral support.

To support you in your role, there is guidance from Registry and Governance on their Personal Tutor page, with guides for staff and for students, the Code of Practice for Personal Tutors as well as links to additional resources and Service and Support contacts.  The page also provides the opportunity to request information which you may find useful, which is not currently available.

The Academic Development Team organises development sessions for new Personal Tutors as well as update sessions for those who are already Personal Tutors (to which new Personal Tutors are also invited).

Please view our Academic Development Calendar of Events for all up and coming Personal Tutoring sessions.
