The Scale-up, Regional Growth and Entrepreneurship Research Group (SURGE) has wide-ranging expertise in business and management.

We have world-renowned expertise on the management of small firms, policy support for SMEs, SME financing and growth for new ventures and those that are already scaling. We are an anchor in the Stirling entrepreneurial ecosystem, connecting local SMEs with the University, local institutions and each other. 

We’ve helped businesses around the world to achieve their goals by sharing our research-based expertise. Researchers from the University can bring the latest findings from their field directly into your enterprise, acting as impartial advisers on your ventures or taking on fully-fledged project team roles.
