After you leave
Many congratulations on completing your studies at the University of Stirling.
At Stirling, graduation isn’t goodbye. It’s the next chapter of a lifelong connection to the people, place and spirit that shaped your journey.
As a Stirling graduate, you join a global family of alumni who have walked this path before you. Whether you’re seeking advice, or just looking to connect with fellow alumni, the Stirling alumni community is here for you.
Before you leave the University, please take a moment to check that your personal and contact details are up to date and consider any information you may need to retrieve from your IT account.
We would also encourage you to explore the support and opportunities available to you beyond graduation, through the University’s Careers Service, Enterprise Programme and Alumni community.
Things to do before you graduate
At the end of your studies, your access to the University network and services will cease. There are, however, some services that we can offer you beyond graduation but due to GDPR legislation, you will have to give us your consent to continue using them.
See the five actions we recommend you take before graduation.
Careers and employability support
As a Stirling graduate you have life-long support from the Careers Service. From refining your CV, to interview practice and much more, our Careers Consultants are here for you no matter what stage of your professional journey you’re at. See the Careers support for graduates.
The Careers Support for Graduates Canvas site is a great source of information for all careers-related topics. This resource is available to all graduates and provides information on finding opportunities, creating applications, further study, going abroad, and more.
A Learning Pathway is a series of short activities to develop a particular skill. They work in conjunction with the material available in Careers Support for Graduates on Canvas. From exploring your career options, to writing a CV, to preparing for an interview, see our range of pathways that can quickly help you develop that important skill that will help you succeed in your career journey. See what pathways are available on TARGETconnect in the Pathways section
Graduate Outcomes
Around 15 months after you graduate, you’ll be invited to take part in the Graduate Outcomes Survey, a national survey that captures what graduates go on to do after university. By sharing your experience, you help build a clearer picture of the diverse paths Stirling graduates take, supporting current and future students to make informed choices about their own futures and helping the University continue to develop and promote its courses.
To make sure we can reach you when the time comes, it’s important that your contact details are kept up to date. You can update your details at any time after graduation, particularly if you move, by completing the Contact Details form with the Alumni team. We’ll send you the survey via email, or you may be contacted by phone.
