International Perspectives on Scots Law 2023/24
We are delighted to launch our seminar series on International Perspectives on Scots Law. We are seeking to bring together academics, practitioners and other stakeholders to present research examining the role of Scots law in the international legal landscape. We hope it will promote the ways in which Scots law can offer solutions to global legal challenges but also to offer critiques of the way in which Scots law can or must evolve to preserve and promote its value.
With many Law Schools diversifying their programme offerings beyond Scots law it is a critical time to explore the interactions between Scots law and other jurisdictions. It is also necessary to consider the relationships between the curriculum within our Law Schools and the needs of legal practice.
The future of Scots law
The next generation of Scots legal practitioners, researchers and graduates have an important contribution to make to the dialogue between Scots law and its position globally. Join us at our seminar series to be part of the conversation.

Seminars will be delivered in hybrid format to enable busy stakeholders to engage with these discussions.
The first event with take place on the 4th of October when we welcome the Law Society of Scotland, who will present their view on how the profession is changing as a result of internationalisation.
