This exhibition highlights artistic responses to the experience of being at Stirling. The works featured in the medium of dance, sound and photography represent some of the ways that artists have creatively interpreted the University buildings and campus life.

Pathfoot Sounds

This sound installation reflects the architecture and fabric of the Pathfoot building as well as the people who work and study within. Pathfoot Sounds was created by Suzy Angus and Janieann McCracken from Communications, Media & Culture as part of the University’s 50th anniversary in 2017.

The Airthrey Dance Trail

This trail is an immersive outdoor dance and poetry experience devised by professional dancer Grace Turner. The self-guided nature trail features a series of films inspired by the landscape of the campus, from its lochs and gardens to its ancient woodland and historical Monument backdrop. Please take a leaflet and explore the trail yourself. The films can be accessed by clicking on the QR code.

The exhibition also a linocut artwork inspired by the University campus by artist Babs Pease as well as quotes taken from Interrobang, a collective poem by Stirling Makar Laura Fyfe and University Alumni in response to the experience of being a student at Stirling.

Each academic year, all of the Art Collection’s exhibitions, events and workshops are directly inspired by one of the University research themes. In 2023-24 our chosen focus is Inspired! in which we celebrate how the beautiful University of Stirling campus and our collections have inspired creativity in many ways.
