Why Stirling?

£20,000 of scholarships plus FFELP loans also available

Eligible students from USA receive £20,000 (£5,000 per year) through our Undergraduate USA Scholarship.

Eligible students from Canada receive £20,000 (£5,000 per year) through our Undergraduate Canada Scholarship.

You can also apply for our International Sports Scholarship Programme, which is one of the largest high-performance sports programmes in the UK.

The University of Stirling is eligible to certify loan applications for the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). US students who are enrolled on a University of Stirling degree are eligible for loans and may borrow up to their calculated Cost of Attendance (provided by the University and updated for each year of a student’s course).

How to apply for a course

Start full-time study in September 2026 or September 2027 - all students can apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) or Common Application.

Start full-time study in January 2027 - you have options to start your degree in January on some of our courses. Applications for January entry must be made directly to the University or Common Application and not through UCAS. See what courses are available and apply.

International students who successfully complete a UK degree can apply for the Graduate Visa, which will allow you to stay in the UK after you graduate.

Pathway and English language programmes to help you meet entry requirements

If you don’t meet our academic or English language requirements for one of our undergraduate courses, you can begin your journey at the University of Stirling International Study Centre (ISC), based on campus. The ISC offers specialist pathways and English language programmes designed to help you progress confidently to degree study.
