Equality and diversity, and treating everyone with respect, are central to our ethos and activities. Stirling promotes equality and celebrate diversity through a variety of initiatives.
We are proud to hold an Athena SWAN Bronze award - the national charter recognising best practice in advancing women’s careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.
We do not tolerate harassment, victimisation or unjustified discrimination. We aim to maintain a culture inclusive of all sections of society.
We take a positive and proactive approach to equality and diversity.
- We meet the requirements of the 2010 Equality Act, the public sector equality duty and Scottish specific equality regulations.
- We promote equality and diversity through a variety of policies and initiatives. For example, the work of our Equality Champions in schools and the establishment of an Equality Action Forum.
- We published our Gender Action Plan in July 2017, in line with guidance from the Scottish Funding Council.
