Eileen Schofield

Eileen Schofield was appointed to the post of University Secretary and Chief Operating Officer with effect from 1 March 2014.

Mrs Schofield has fulfilled the role as Deputy Secretary at Stirling since her first appointment here in August 2009, including two periods as acting University Secretary/Chief Operating Officer. Previously she was Director of Planning and Deputy Director of Policy, Planning and Governance at the University of Aberdeen. Following graduation she qualified as an accountant and worked in several finance roles, culminating in the role of Senior Faculty Accountant for the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences prior to moving into Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Takes a major role in the development of strategies and operational plans that enable the University to achieve its ambitions
  • Leads the University’s service directorates and line manages the Service Directors
  • Ensures that systems and frameworks are in place to drive and support integrated planning and strategy and development across the University
  • Works closely with the Chair of Court and ensures the proper and efficient governance of the University
  • Represents the University in the wider community, as required
  • Is responsible for the staff and recurrent annual income and expenditure budgets and management of planned capital expenditure
