Our students

Our students are the pride and life of the University, and we thrive on their success in achieving great things in wider society. We are ambitious in challenging them to use their knowledge to shape global communities.

We have 18,500+ students from 140+ nationalities studying with the University of Stirling globally, including 6,000 students in our growing postgraduate community. Our award-winning and beautiful campus is full of life and activity with around 2,000 students living, studying and relaxing.

At Stirling, we’re a close-knit community. Stirling is a place where everyone is treated with respect and where ability - not background - is valued. We’re proud of the diversity of our students with more than 30% coming from an international background.

Stirling Alumni Association

Every student who studies at Stirling for one semester or more is automatically a member of the Stirling Alumni Association. The association has a global network of more than 100,000 former Stirling students in 180 countries. This helps our students keep links with the University and each other. Many of our students return to campus after graduation, either to continue with their education, partner with the University through their work, or develop their professional career as an employee of the University.
