An award-winning faculty

We’re an award-winning faculty, recognised for developing new talent amongst our students, and delivering excellence in education.

Our Faculty also has its own awards to recognise and reward ability and clinical distinction among our students.

Student Nursing Times Awards

The Student Nursing Times Awards celebrate the very best in student nurses and nursing education, recognising educational establishments and honouring those who are committed to developing new talent.

We have won the Student Nursing Times Awards in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

In 2016 we were recognised as Nurse Education Provider of the Year for pre-registration nursing. Our course was commended for its outstanding delivery of education to undergraduate nursing students.

In 2017 third-year student Sophie Cameron was named Student Nurse of the Year in the Adult Nursing category, while lecturer Ivor Smith picked up the award for Educator of the Year.

In 2022, Catherine Watson was named Student Nurse of the Year in the Mental Health category.
