Accelerated Knowledge Transfer

If your business is looking to collaborate with a world-leading institution to deliver a rapid and targeted intervention to accelerate the development of a product or innovation, an Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) with the University of Stirling may be the right path for you.

Current funding round: 6 November - 6 December 2023

This is the only advertised round of the AKT scheme, contact us at business@stir.ac.uk to ensure you don't miss out.

Some of the areas that AKT can help with include:

  • identifying innovation blockers;
  • evaluating an innovation concept;
  • finding solutions to immediate as well as longer-term challenges;
  • accelerating new thinking and processes;
  • developing new business models and expanding capacity.

Inspired by the highly successful partnership model of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), an AKT is designed to create short-term collaborations between a private or third sector business and a UK Knowledge Base to rapidly inject innovation capacity which has the potential for significant impact for the Business Partner. (Public sector organisations are not eligible).

Accelerated Knowledge Transfer specifications

  • Projects must run for between 2 - 4 months.
  • The maximum grant will be £35,000 per project.
  • The Business Partner must contribute 10% minimum of the total project costs in cash.
  • The Business Partner must be a UK-registered business, charitable company, or charity.
