B,.Sc. (Mathematics) Glasgow 1973, Ph.D. (Computing Science) Glasgow 1981. Lecturer Glasgow University 1980-83. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader/Professor Stirling 1984-present. Head of Department 1999-2002 and 2008-2013. Now emeritus (as of 3 October 2018), intent on spending more time on research, particularly on early auditory processing and computational neuroscience.  See the ORCID link for publications.
