Drone Warfare in Ukraine and Beyond
Drones have changed how wars are being fought. Cheap, mass-produced systems now find targets, correct artillery fire and strike armour, logistics and infrastructure far behind the front line. In Ukraine, both sides are adapting constantly. In this lecture, Andro Mathewson draws on his PhD research and his work leading open-source investigations into the war. He will explain how drone warfare developed in Ukraine, what the evidence shows about its effects, and what it means for how armies will fight in future.
The event will be moderated by Professor Andrea Schapper, University of Stirling and is hosted by the Centre for Policy, Conflict and Co-operation Research.
