Abstract
Shakespeare in Succession, edited by Michael Saenger and Sergio Costola, is an ambitious and multifaceted exploration of how Shakespeare's works have been translated, adapted, and reinterpreted across languages, cultures, and time periods. The edited volume brings together essays from practitioners and scholars, offering a unique dual perspective on the challenges and oppurtunities of "a continuum of transfers" of Shakespeare across time and space. By examining both the practical, historical, and theoretical dimensions of translation, the book examines not only the textual transmission of his plays but also their ever-changing performance histories on stage and screen.
