About me

I am a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health, Sport and Society. I lecture in Initial Teacher Education with a specialism in Physical Education and in Sport with a specialism in Sport Development and Coaching and Sport and Exercise Psychology.

Previous to this I was a P.E teacher, in schools across Scotland, for 15 years. I held leadership positions in Pastoral Care as well as in PE Curriculum Development, Certificated Senior Phase qualifications, Head of Hockey and Tennis, and led whole school events.

My professional career interests include sport psychology, psycho-social education, pedagogy, coaching and mentoring, and certificated physical education. I was part of the Education Scotland Collaboration Group for Health and Wellbeing, which was involved in developing Scotland's Curriculum for Excellence.

In 2025 I graduated with an MSc Psychology of Sport (Distinction) and in my research, 'Inside the Interval: The Social-Affective Dynamics of Half-Time in Elite Women's Field Hockey', I worked with a European National Women's Hockey team. I presented this research at the International Cluster for Research into Coaching Conference in June 2026 and live on youtube on The Hockey Site in May 2026.

In July 2026 I worked at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as a Deputy Workforce Manager. This was a fantastic opportunity to work in a major sporting event environment and manage, support and deliver presentations to the workforce (paid staff and volunteers).

I have nearly 30 caps for Scotland in Womens Masters Hockey and over 60 caps for Scotland Touch Rugby. I continue to coach hockey in Glasgow and play for a local club.
