On the application form we ask you to choose the modules you’d like to study and reserve choices.

If you’re coming through an exchange programme such as Erasmus+, you need to be nominated by the Study Abroad Office at your home university in order to apply.

Alternatively, if you’re in the USA you can apply through one of our study abroad providers.

Supporting documents

In addition to your completed Study Abroad Application form, you’ll also need:

  • your most recent transcript from your home university
  • a copy of your passport picture page
  • an academic recommendation
  • in some cases, evidence of English language ability is required

Application deadlines

Autumn semester - September entry or full-year applications:  1 April

Spring semester - January entry applications:  15 October

What happens next?

If you’ve met our entry criteria and you’re successful, we’ll send you an email with further information and enrol you on your modules. Your reserve module choices will only be used if there’s no space availability on your preferred choices. We'll also send you our Study Abroad Student Handbook, which includes a guide for applying for accommodation.

Accommodation

You’ll have a choice of accommodation options both on and off-campus. We cannot guarantee on-campus accommodation availability, however Stirling city is just a short bus ride from the University and you’ll be eligible for discounted bus fares.

You’ll apply for your accommodation online and we’ll send you instructions on how to do this in our Study Abroad Handbook, after you’ve been accepted on our study abroad programme. Find out which accommodation options you can choose from
