Join us outside Haldane’s (grass area) between 12:00 and 14:00 on the 18 and 25 April and/or 2 and 9 May to experience Miniature Horse Therapy first-hand, brought to campus by Lunar Eclipse EFL Therapy Horses CIC.
Lunar Eclipse is a non-profit organization dedicated to harnessing the profound connection between humans and horses to foster healing, learning, and personal growth. Engaging with horses can lead to improved self-esteem, enhanced emotional regulation, and reduced stress levels. The act of grooming, feeding, and caring for these animals fosters a sense of responsibility and accomplishment, which is particularly beneficial for individuals facing mental health challenges!
These dates have been chosen to run across exam periods but do note that they are weather dependent and will not run if very wet - attendees will be notified no later than the morning of each event if we will need to cancel.
The miniature horses will be on campus for a limited time so please be advised that therapy will be allocated in small groups. Allocation will be on a first come, first served, basis with approximately 5 minutes for interaction and photographs. The queue to meet and greet a mini horse will run around the small loch from Haldane's outdoor entrance.
We expect this to be a well-attended event so please pop down early and be prepared to wait within a queue. We will do our best to accommodate as many people as possible within the two hours for each session but please be aware that interaction with the mini horses is not guaranteed.
This event is running as part of the university’s BeConnected Programme designed to help you enjoy your time on campus, take a breather from studies/work, and meet new people. Sound great? Simply book your preferred date via the link.
