How do I apply?

Applications are submitted directly to the University. You can’t apply through UCAS for the Access course. As part of the application process, you must submit a CV and personal statement with your application.

Once all documents have been received you may then be moved to stage 2 of the process when you will be asked to complete a short essay task.

Applications for the Access to Degree Studies course 2021/2 entry are now live.

Please ensure you complete an application prior to 31st January when applications will close.


Please note that that we work to the following timescales in terms of responding to you.

Full application received (this includes CV and Personal Statement) - within 4 weeks of receipt of all your necessary documents to either progress or close the application.

If you are sent a task - once your completed task has been received it will be sent for review and marking. You should be aware that there may not be a decision on your application until 31 March 2021.

When do classes start?

Classes for the next academic year begin in mid-August 2020, not at the start of the undergraduate teaching calendar in September 2020. Our Access programme classes are run on both Monday and Thursday evenings, 6:30 – 9:30 pm, and attendance is required for all classes.
