How to apply for an Access course

Applications are submitted directly to the University. You can’t apply through UCAS for the Access course. As part of the application process, you must submit a CV and personal statement.

Applications for 2024 are now closed.

What happens after I apply?

Your application is individually considered to ensure fair admissions.

Once we receive your application along with your CV and personal statement, we will respond within four weeks to either progress your application to the next stage or to let you know that you have not been successful.

At the next stage you will be asked to complete a short essay task and send it back to us as soon as possible.

When your completed task has been received it will be sent for review and marking. A decision will then be made on your application. If successful you will receive an offer of a place on your chosen Access course. We aim to make that decision as soon as possible but you may not know until the end of June 2024.

When do classes start?

Classes for the next academic year begin in mid-August 2024. Classes are taught on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 18:30 to 21:30 depending on the Access course you take. Attendance is required for all classes.
