University of Stirling celebrates graduates in Ras Al Khaimah

Students have celebrated their graduation from the University of Stirling's campus in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Graduates from Accountancy and Finance, Computer Science, Management and Software Engineering courses were recognised during the ceremony in Ras Al Khaimah on October 3.

The 139 graduates who received their awards join a growing University of Stirling alumni community in UAE and become part of a global network of more than 115,000 alumni making a difference across the world.

Globally recognised education

Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Gerry McCormac said: “Graduation is a moment to recognise the hard work, resilience and determination of our students.

“Through our partnership in Ras Al Khaimah, we are providing a globally recognised education while equipping graduates with the skills and confidence to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

“As they begin the next chapter of their journeys, we congratulate our graduates on all they have accomplished. We are proud of their success and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their careers, industries and communities.”

Successful partnership

The ceremony also reflected the continued success of the University’s partnership in Ras Al Khaimah, which provides students with access to a high-quality, internationally recognised education.

The University’s UAE campus, a partnership with Planet One International Education, opened in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in 2018, with the first cohort of students starting their studies in September of the same year.

The University continues to expand its presence in Ras Al Khaimah, with student numbers growing and plans for further development in the years ahead.

As the University approaches its 60th anniversary next year, it continues to build on its reputation as one of the UK's leading universities.

Earlier this year, Stirling was named Scottish University of the Year and UK Sports University of the Year, and last month ranked 37th in the Good University Guide – up 18 places on last year’s ranking.
