Meg began her career at the Monterey Bay Aquarium as a surrogate mom for orphaned sea otter pups. In 1990, Meg joined the marine mammal department at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago and was a lead trainer for Alaskan sea otters and Pacific white-sided dolphins. In 2000, Meg created Animal Management Resources, a private consulting company that specialized in developing and enhancing animal care and training programs for zoos and aquariums. Meg was introduced to the Duke Lemur Center as a consultant in 2007 and joined the full time staff in 2012. In 2018, Meg earned her MSc in Animal Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.
