Data research into sales trends and income from selected Scottish book publishers

The purpose of the research is to capture data from a sample of independent publishers on their sales performance over a five-year period and the sales income. There is an opportunity here to gather evidence of the way in which the book market operates forindependent publishers, mainly small and micro companies, and to understand how best to build a sustainable publishing sector. Ten Scottish-based companies have agreed to participate in the research and are all ‘trade’ publishers of fiction, non-fiction and children’s books.
