About me

About me

My research interests lie in the commercial production of aquaculture fin-fish species with particular focus on how external stimuli (light spectrum and intensity, diet, production system) affect developmental ontogeny during key production phases. Recently my work has focused on understanding how husbandry practices influence fish health, the gill microbial population and the relationship this has on the health and welfare of the animal. Using state-of-the art molecular tools including transcriptomics, metagenomics and microbiome profiling I explore the relationship between physical inputs and the response of the animals.
