Joyce had a varied career in clinical nursing in Paediatrics, Adult Nursing and Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing, before entering academia, first as a Research Fellow and more recently as a Lecturer. Her main responsbilities are lecturing on the Early Years (Health Visiting) programme and on the Clinical Doctorate programme acting as a module co-ordinator on both programmes. She is a personal tutor for undergraduate and post graduate students. Joyce is also a member of the local Health Board Research and Deveopment Committee.
My research interests relate to implementation and impact in Health Services, mainly the challenge of implementing evidence-based practice, having undertaken a number of studies using a variety of methodologies. I have also undertaken a number of studies of evaluation of implementation in Health Services. Research interests in leadership and management in health services relate to my teaching and I also have experience of and an interest in quality improvement in health care and patient safety, having undertaken clinical work and research in these areas.
