What's included?

Our International Summer School provides an inclusive package. Your fee means that all the essentials will be taken care of. This includes:

Academic tuition

Our expert teaching staff provide a supportive and interactive learning environment. Our study modules include Scottish and international topics, and each module includes a related excursion to bring your studies to life.

Orientation programme

We hold a welcome reception, giving you the chance to meet your fellow Summer School students. To help you settle into life in Stirling, our full orientation programme also includes a ‘Welcome Pack’, campus tour, shopping trip, library induction and more.

Dedicated 24-hour support team

Our International Summer School team can be contacted 24/7 - available to help with any queries or welfare needs you may have throughout the summer. Our team includes several Resident Assistants who live on campus, so they can be easily contacted whenever you need their assistance.

All trips and excursions

In addition to our module excursions, we organise day trips to Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews. These trips are an excellent way to enjoy some of Scotland’s major attractions, under the guidance and expertise of our team.

Social activities

We balance academic study with a wide range of exciting and fun social activities. Through these activities you’ll be able to explore Scottish culture and get to know everyone at Summer School. Past activities have included: golf lessons on campus, Scottish dance lessons, nature walks, and kayaking and canoeing on our campus lake (loch).

Modern on-campus accommodation

Staying at one of our newest accommodation facilities, you’ll have your own, private bedroom and en-suite bathroom, in a shared flat (apartment). Each flat is shared only with other Summer School students and includes communal living areas, allowing you to relax and socialise with your fellow students. All accommodation is self-catered and fully furnished, including bed linen, kitchenware and 24-hour University of Stirling staff support.

Wi-Fi internet access in rooms

We have Wi-Fi internet access in all of our rooms, so you can easily keep in touch with your friends and family, and share photos of your Stirling experience.

Sports centre membership

You’ll have full use of our world-class, on campus sports facilities for the duration of your programme. As Scotland’s University of Sporting Excellence, you’ll have access to the same facilities that our Olympic athletes use, including a swimming pool, tennis court and golf course.

Airport transfers

We offer a pick-up and drop-off transfer service for Edinburgh and Glasgow International airports, available at selected times on the first and last day of each block.

Nature walks

Stirling has some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. The Dumyat Hill walk and the Darn walk will allow you to connect with local nature, and enjoy some of the best views in the region.

Farewell Ceilidh

A traditional Scottish dance, the Ceilidh ensures you’ll enjoy a memorable farewell. Complete with a live band, buffet dinner and a red carpet, it will be one of the highlights of your summer. Before the Ceilidh, you’ll have the opportunity to have a Scottish dance lesson, so you’re familiar with a few of Scotland’s favourite dances.
