Unibuddy privacy notice
Purpose and legal basis
The University of Stirling will process personal information about you, which is gathered via its partner ‘Unibuddy’. The University is the data controller and Unibuddy is the data processor.
The information you will be asked to provide includes: first name, last name, email address, password, country, the degree level you are interested in, whether you have already applied to the university. You will also provide information shared in chat conversations and interactions with student ambassadors.
The University will use this information held about you (and information about others that you have provided us with) in the following ways:

Third parties
If you agree to be contacted by the University of Stirling for marketing purposes, the personal information collected will be passed on to our educational partners QS Enrolment Solutions. This information will include: first name, last name, email, country, the degree and level of study you are interested in. QS Enrolment Solutions will process this information and use it to send you marketing information on topics such as Open Day or courses.
Personal information will also be collected and processed by the data controller - Unibuddy. Please refer to their privacy policy for further information.
Student Ambassadors, acting on behalf of the University will also have access to your information.
Retention
The University of Stirling will retain information for no more than one year. For information on Unibuddy’s data retention please see their privacy policy.
Security
All University users of personal data must ensure that all personal data they hold is kept securely. They must ensure that it is not disclosed to any unauthorised third party in any form either accidentally or otherwise. Data Security should be undertaken in line with the Information Technology Use Policy, Data Classification and Handling Policy. Your rights
You have the right to request to see a copy of the information we hold about you and to request corrections or deletions of the information that is no longer required.
If you provide consent for us to use your personal data in the ways outline above you have the right to subsequently withdraw you consent.
In some circumstance you may have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, to request it is erased where it is no longer required for the stated purposes, or that inaccurate information about you is corrected.
