Abstract
First paragraph: For Allied Health Professionals, a Workforce Planning Development Programme was introduced, which consisted of a 5-day course and was completed over several months. A key aim of the programme was to develop skills in collecting the evidence needed for robust workforce planning and to develop reasoned arguments for this. Fifty five (55) Allied Health Professionals, representing almost every territorial Board in NHS Scotland, completed the Workforce Planning Development Programme between May 2009 and September 2009. This report will: - Detail the analysis and conclusions from the first level evaluation of the Workforce Planning Development Programme. - Recommend future directions for NHS Scotland to ensure that specific workforce planning training is relevant and available to improve workforce planning capability and capacity.
