Abstract
This workshop followed on from the ICES-sponsored workshop ‘Gadoid Mariculture: Development and Future Challenges' held in Bergen 2004, whose findings are summarised in a comprehensive review (Bricknell et al. 2006). The presented papers served to update findings from the Bergen meeting, highlighting significant developments in the study of diseases of cultured and wild gadoid fish over the intervening year and emphasising potential threats to gadoid culture. The five oral presentations comprised 1) an overview of bacterial and viral disease of gadoids 2) an overview of gadoid parasites 3) a survey of the parasite fauna of wild gadoids in the Scottish coastal zone 4) an investigation of the impact of Lernaeocera branchialis on juvenile cultured cod and 5) a note on the occurrence of Clavella adunca in wild gadoids. Abstracts for these papers can be found in the proceedings of the 12th EAFP Conference (0119-0122).
