Abstract
First paragraph: This report presents the findings of a review of literature undertaken as the first stage of a study examining the possible relationships between Scottish international sporting success and aspects of national cultures, values and motivation. The research was commissioned by the Scottish Institute of Sport Foundation (The Foundation) and was undertaken by a team from the Department of Sports Studies at the University of Stirling.
