Abstract
This report outlines the third phase of a research project that focused on middle managers in Scotland’s social services. An initial scoping analysis of the role and functions of middle managers across different parts of the sector was completed in March 2014. Following this, in autumn 2014, we investigated middle managers’ leadership learning needs and their preferred ways of learning using a survey questionnaire and desk research.
