Abstract
The Series Editors' Preface introduces this major monograph by Rhona Schuz on the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction. It explains how it builds on the first major monograph in English on the Convention by Paul Beaumont and Peter McEleavy, The Hague Convention on International Child Abduction (OUP, 1999). The foreword to the book was written by Baroness Hale, then the Deputy President of the UK Supreme Court. The Series Editors' Preface gives a summary of when the Article 13(1)(b) grave risk of harm defence under the Convention should be upheld by the courts.
