Abstract
The series editor's preface introduces this edited collection on commercial issues in the private international law of common law countries. The preface comments favourably on ideas by Brooke Marshall about how asymmetric choice of court agreements should clearly be understood as outside the scope of the Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements 2005. The preface then expresses the hope that such agreements (and all other choice of court agreements not classified as 'exclusive' under the 2005 Convention would be properly covered by the Hague Judgments Convention to be finalised in July 2019 (they were). The preface commends some other cogent chapters by some of the leading common law private international lawyers in the world (eg Mary Keyes, Reid Mortensen, Andrew Dickinson and Tiong Min Yeo
