A summary of Sir David Tweedie's address to accounting and finance staff and students at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, February 2013.  Sir David spoke about the success of IFRS in helping to resolve and eliminate trans-national barriers in financial reporting practice, and he emphasised some of the principal challenges which lie ahead.
