The objective of this project is to produce an updated version of the SPIRIT model incorporating the new dose-per-unit-release data from environmental dispersion assessment models, updates from recently published environmental transfer data and with improved functionality to take account of current concerns such as discharges of NORM from the oil and gas industry and the use of additional radionuclides in novel medical applications.
This builds on the work we have been doing for the last few years for SEPA and the Environment Agency through research conducted to develop new dose assessment models
