About me

About me

I am an Ecologist which has lead me to my PhD studies on Bats in Agricultural Landscapes with a focus on ecosystem services and anthropogenic impacts. My work and research as taken me to many places around the world and I have a particular passion for African wildlife and conservation. Expeditions and teaching have been the highlight of my PhD work so far.

Research

Ecosystem services and anthropogenic impacts on biodiversity are my main research interests. Bats are particularly useful to humans in the context of insect predation in agricultural and urban environments but do attract negative press. I have specialized in research on the ecology of bats and am involved in several research and conservation projects in Africa.

Teaching

Teaching

I train and mentor field assistants and also demonstrate at the University of Stirling, including for lab and field work.
