About me

About me

Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

I am the Programme Director for the MSc in Advancing Practice programme see this link.

I also have a lead role in the Faculty in relation to Law, Ethics and Fitness to Practise and I am a co-ordinator for International Placements.

I am a Registered Nurse (Adult) and a registered nurse teacher.  I have a wealth of teaching and educational project management experience across a variety of settings such as theatres, intensive care, clinical audit, clinical skills, undergraduate nurse education and practice education.

I am enthusiastic towards all aspects of teaching and learning and I believe that I can transfer my enthusiasm into my role and to those being taught which will facilitate and promote sound evidence-based clinical practice, which I truly believe will ultimately benefit patient care.

I have previously worked for the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) as a registrant chair of their Fitness to Practise committee. In addition, I also worked for the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Lay member of their Fitness to Practise Committees.
