Dr. NARINA THAKUR Dr. Narina Thakur earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Amity University Uttar Pradesh, India, in 2019, specializing in Information Retrieval and Machine Learning. She was a Gold Medalist in her Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science & Engineering from Himachal Pradesh University and holds an M.Tech in Information Technology from Punjab Technical University, India. Dr. Narina Thakur is a prominent academician and researcher specializing in Computer Science and Engineering. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Computing, Faculty of Natural Sciences, and former Head Research Innovation Committee at University of Stirling, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), United Arab Emirates (UAE).
With more than 24 years of teaching and research experience, an H-index of 17, and an i10-index of 27, Dr. Narina Thakur has published 5 SCI/SCIE-indexed papers and over 85 research papers in peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed international journals and conferences, including ACM, Elsevier, and IEEE. She has authored several books on Algorithms, Programming, and Operating Systems. Her research interests include Computational Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and the Internet of Things (IoT). She has also reviewed many peer-reviewed and SCI-indexed research papers. Dr. Narina Thakur, former Dean – R&D and Associate Professor, Department of CSE, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Delhi, India, has completed two funded research projects. As Principal Investigator, she led the DST-funded ICPS project, “Autonomous Intelligent Drone for Smart City Surveillance” (1st April 2019 – 21st December 2021). Earlier, while serving as HOD and Associate Professor CSE, she worked as a Co-Principal Investigator on the DRDO-DESIDOC Consultancy project, “Data Mining Techniques” (15th April 2015 – 7th December 2016).
Dr. Narina Thakur delivered expert sessions on Responsible Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development Goals at AICTE-ATAL FDP 2025, CCET, Panjab University, Chandigarh (10–15 Nov 2025), Session on “Explainable AI in Healthcare using Machine Learning” in the Faculty Development Program on “AI & Machine Learning for Engineering and Healthcare Applications” FDP at Biomedical Engineering Department, VIT Mumbai(16th June 2026- 20th June 2026) and on Essentials of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in a DST Government of India-sponsored FDP at Jamia Hamdard University (1 August 2022).
She also served as an Editor and Session Chair for the Springer International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Networks (ICAIN 2025), organized by BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, UAE, held on 6th –7th October 2025. The conference proceedings are being published in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series (LNNS) by Springer.
