About me

About me

I am an IAPETUS PhD researcher in Biological and Environmental Sciences, studying public awareness and perceptions of invasive non-native species. My project uses conservation culturomics techniques to gain information from the internet about awareness, perceptions and trade of British invasive non-native species. I aim to compare the results of these internet data analyses to the results gained from traditional survey techniques.

Before coming to Stirling, I worked as a school teacher in primary and secondary schools across England and Scotland. I hold an undergraduate degree in biology with Arabic and an MSc in psychology from the University of St Andrews.

Outside of my PhD, I am the president of Stirling University Parkour Club. I coach trampoline and gymnastics and represent the University in BUCS/SSS competitions as well as competing on the Scottish Gymnastics trampolining circuit.
