About me

About me

I am a PhD Researcher focussing on freshwater ecosystems and surrounding terrestrial habitats. I am particularly interested in the role of large herbivores in rewilding, and in using ecoacoustics as a tool for biodiversity assessment. My current project explores the ecosystem impacts of habitat engineering by reintroduced beavers, using audio recordings to characterise freshwater habitats and their associated ecological communities, focussing on birds, bats, and aquatic invertebrates. Prior to starting a PhD I completed an MSci in Zoology at the University of Sussex (2017 - 2022) with a research project on the soundscape of the Wilder Blean bison reintroduction site in Kent.

Research

My research interests include trophic rewilding and species reintroductions, the ecosystem impacts of habitat engineering by beavers, and the use of ecoacoustics and soundscape analysis as tools to assess biodiversity.
