About me

Bryan Dickson is Head of Building Conservation Policy for the National Trust for Scotland. He holds key responsibilities for shaping future policy and advocacy focus, internal standards and guidance, horizon scanning, and research and external partnership working. This includes representation of the National Trust for Scotland on national stakeholder groups and strategic programmes. He is project lead for Portfolio Review and Values Framework development, Acquisition Appraisals, Sector Skills development and Digital Documentation development.

Bryan is a Chartered Building Surveyor by training with more than 27 years’ experience on client, consultant and specialist contractor side. His experience includes surveys, contract, project and programme management with a recent focus on national policy and strategy advice for heritage portfolio management. Conservation Accredited since 2005.
